These were the children of Winnifred Jane Attwood and Caleb Attwood Sr. Estelle was their first born. Ellie died of a childhood illness. My Mom, Ena Phyllis Stratton Dingwell (1925-1997) used to tell me how she and her sister Alma would paint the letters on this headstone when they were children visiting their grandparents ( Winnie and Caleb sr.) as they often did in the summer time. Mom and Alma would come over from Valleyfield to spend a couple weeks with their mother's parents as a holiday in the summer. Winnie would give then a little pot of black paint and small brushes and send them to the graveyard to do the task. Winnie also made a christening gown for Estelle, who is buried here, that she used to christen all her children (7). I have the gown in my possession as it has been used since then for 4 generations of babies descended from Winnie.
